The Open Door is having its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on Saturday, November 18th from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.  The Manchester-Essex Rotary Club has a long-standing relationship with The Open Door and has always supported this annual drive. 

There will be three (3) shifts of two (2) hours each.

Dress warm! Volunteers will be standing outside of Crosby's Market in downtown Manchester.  

Essex Turkey Trot 5K Race and Fun Walk – sponsored by the Essex Lions Club 

The Essex Lions Club is looking for volunteers to help with the Essex Turkey Trot 5K Race and Fun Walk Sunday, November 19,  from 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.  Volunteers may be doing any number of activities, including setting up, registration, finish line, spot timing and awards, tear down.  Meet at Woodman's by 9 am for further instruction. 

The Open Door is looking for drivers to help deliver Thanksgiving Meals to the needy on Tuesday the 21st.  They need 5 cars per time slot to deliver meals. The three slots are 2:30pm, 3pm and 3:15pm

Join us this year on Sunday, December 10th at 11AM. We will be meeting and shopping at the Wal-Mart in Danvers, buying our gifts, dropping them off at my Dental office in Magnolia and then meeting up for drinks and snacks at a location to be determined. 

This year Pathways is collaborating with Well Spring and Action so items will be donated to them for Children in Gloucester to help local families in need have a happy holiday season.

Back by popular demand, the 3rd Annual MERC St. Pat's Dinner & Irish Music will be held on March 16, 2023 5:30 PM - 10:00 PM at the Amaral Baily American Legion Hall, 14 Church Street, Manchester MA.  There will be corned beef and cabbage, music by The Erstwhiles and The Creaganmore Pipes & Drums, as well as Irish Step Dancing. Seating is limited get the tickets while they last! Tickets are $30 follow the registration or pay online on our website www.manchesteressexrotary.org on the payment button.  Music only $10 at the door. All Proceeds to benefit the Amaral Bailey American Legion Post 113, Manchester MA and the MERC Scholarship Fund.  $5 discount to Legion members who purchase their tickets in advance in person at the Legion.

Our big Membership Mixer is April 3, at the Essex Historic Schoolhouse, 6-8 PM.  We would like every member to try to bring at least one prospective member.  There will be a speaker from Strong Water Farm who operate a therapeutic equestrian center in Tewksbury.  Food and beverages are complimentary for your guests, there will be the usual $30 dinner fee for our members, payable at the event.
 

This year it will be held at the Cox Reservation in Essex,MA on Saturday April 13 from 830 to 1130.  A rain date is planned for Sunday April 14.

Dinners are back at The Open Door!  We are hosting our first dinner and are looking for approx 3 volunteers. 

We will be making breakfast for community guests of The Grace Center and need approx 4 volunteers for this event. 

Meal Service at the First Beverly Baptist Church, Cabot St. Beverly. Full dinner served to approximately 40 clients.

The Club is thrilled to host the 19th Annual Kentucky Derby Party and Auction on Saturday May 4th from 5:30 to 8:30!  This event brings items from all corners from golf outings and beach barbecues to fine clothing and complete wine cellars.  There is a silent auction for smaller items and a live auction featuring auctioneer and State Senator Bruce Tarr for the big ticket items like pro sports tickets, golf outings, boat cruises and more!  We will watch the Derby race live, there will be a non-betting lottery on the outcome, a hat contest with the best woman's and men's hat winning a bottle of real Kentucky bourbon and a bouquet of roses.  An excellent buffet dinner will be served throughout the evening, cash bar (yes mint julep), and best of all we are raising money for local scholarships, food banks and international projects. Support the North Shore Kids PMC Bike Ride by manning a water station at one of several ride routes. The Kids PMC bike ride is a fun ride for kids ages 2-15 with 100% of all funds raised donated to Dana Farber Cancer Institute. This is a super fun family event!
