Manchester-Essex Rotary Club Announces “Gears For Good” Community Bike Event at Masconomo Park on September 20, 2026

The Manchester-Essex Rotary Club is excited to announce the Second Annual Community Bike Event, Gears For Good, on Sunday, September 20 at Masconomo Park in Manchester-by-the-Sea.  Designed to promote healthy recreation and community engagement, Gears For Good invites riders of all ages and abilities to enjoy a morning of cycling while supporting the Club’s mission of service.

“Our Rotary Club is thrilled to offer this community event, Gears For Good, for the second year as part of our commitment to “Service above Self,’” said Club President Ron Parker.  “We hope riders of all ages – especially children and families – will discover the fun, freedom and lifelong health benefits that come from riding a bike.”

Participants can choose from three ride options tailored to different ages and experience levels:

  • Bike Rodeo for children under 5, featuring a fun obstacle course at Masconomo Park;
  • Gordon College Trails Ride (approximately 7 miles round trip around Gull pond and optional extension to 10 miles) family oriented for youth, teens and adults seeking a recreational road and gravel ride.  This ride offers the opportunity for families with younger children to participate in all, or part of the ride;
  • Conomo Point Ride (approximately 20 miles) for more experienced road cyclists, including a water stop along the route

In addition to the rides, attendees can enjoy an inflatable bounce house, coffee and refreshments, and exhibits from several local organizations, including Manchester’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Committee, Public Safety Officials and Riverside Cycle.
